Thank you President Carter

HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY!

Habitat for Humanity in Wayne County joins Habitat organizations around the world in erecting a wall and door structure, to pay tribute to President Jimmy Carter on his 100th birthday. We would like to acknowledge how his efforts opened doors to brighter futures for thousands of Habitat homeowners over four decades.

“President Carter’s contributions to Habitat for Humanity are among the most vital to our organization,” said Jonathan Reckford, CEO of Habitat for Humanity International. “He opened doors of opportunity for families worldwide, and all of us at Habitat have been honored and humbled to work alongside him. “

In addition to visiting the memorial door structure and signing well wishes and blessings, the public is invited to visit habitat.org to sign the official online memory book and to see and share Habitat’s global tribute to President Carter.

“Several Wayne County residence have met President Carter personally. They’ve shared some wonderful stories about his humility and down-to earth nature. Throughout my time at Habitat I have heard how he’s been our champion. We all realize his impact on  Habitat for Humanity’s success, not only in this country but throughout the world. It’s only fitting that we bring honor to President Carter in this way and on his 100th birthday.” -Beth Weaver, HFH Wayne County Director
